Uploading contacts to VerticalResponse

To upload new contacts to VerticalResponse without syncing the full list, navigate to the VerticalResponse tab in your list. In the toolbar, select Actions and then Upload New Contacts to VerticalResponse.

A dialogue box will pop up asking if you want to upload the contacts in this list to a VerticalResponse list. If a list of the same name does not already exist in VerticalResponse, it will be created when you click Upload. New lists must have a unique name.

Note that contacts that have been deactivated or have an invalid email address in aACE will not be uploaded.

When the upload is complete, another dialogue box will pop up asking if you want to view the rejected records, i.e. records that failed to upload to VerticalResponse for one of the reasons noted above. Click View to see a list of these records; note that this will either open in your web browser or download as a CSV file, depending on your system's settings.

What if the number of contacts in VerticalResponse doesn't match the number of contacts in aACE?

When you sync your aACE list with a VerticalResponse list, some contacts may not upload. This can happen for one of four reasons:

  • The contact has been deactivated in aACE. To check for deactivated contacts, navigate to the related contact list and search for inactive or pending contacts.
  • The contact lacks a valid email address in aACE. Navigate to the related contact list and search "*" in the email field to find all email addresses in the list. Check that each email address is entered correctly.
  • The contact has previously unsubscribed or bounced from VerticalResponse. If a contact has previously bounced, check that their email address is entered correctly. If there are no detectable errors, reach out to that contact for an updated email address.
  • The contact is a duplicate of a contact that already exists in VerticalResponse. Navigate to the related contact list and search "!" in the email field to find all duplicates.

See Viewing Rejected Records from VerticalResponse for more information on rejected records.

Refer to the Search Operators chart for more information on search functions.
